Prenatal Period

One of the most vital aspects of human development is to understand changes. The change that happens in each period of development with an influence of the culture and the situation that surrounds the individual is known as the lifespan perspective. It has characteristics that relate to the human development namely 1. Lifespan perspective is continuous and never stock up in one age period (life  long) 2. It consists of physical, cognitive and social factor (multidimensional) 3. It shows achievable positive change for the fulfillment of environments demand (plasticity) 4. It is influenced by the history 5. It is multidisciplinary and lastly, it is in contextual meaning (cited in Hernandez, 2008).

The aspects of development that occur in the life of my grandparent are not the same with me. The number one characteristic is true because as an individual grows old, he is developed to become matured enough for his continuous growth in the preparation for another stage of his life. Under the contextual meaning, the way he was cared is differ from mine because my grandparent grew up in the country side while I have to be in the city. During the time of my grandparent, it is advisable for them to have many children at their young age because the old ones believed that they could be of great help when it comes to their businesses aside from the fact that he is very rich but I couldnt afford to be like him (to have many kids) because I dont have the same wealth as he had. I also observe that the lifespan of the ancient people is very long because my grand parent died at the age of 95 maybe because of the environment that they had during their time. The three key factors in the lifespan perspective (physical, cognitive and social aspects) are maximized by my grandparent in achieving his goals in life. As for me, Im developing my lifespan one at a time due to the things that surrounds me and the trends nowadays that affect my life.

Infancy Period
The personality development is the improvement of an individual in all aspects of his life. It can be with his family, friends, in his work, or in any place. It is very important to enhance the personality that a person possesses, thats why there are many people that keep on attending classes or seminars and reading modules or books about personality development because many believe that the tips and lessons that one can gain from them will be of great help in facing the ever  changing world of today.

At my young age back then, my parents play a major role in developing my personality. There is a big possibility that when a little child whom who never experience the love and guidance of his parents will show wrong attitudes and acts uneducated. The development of personality is very important at the early age of an individual. It needs to be corrected accordingly because the child will suffer a lot if his undesirable attitudes will conquer his whole individuality. Just like in my case, my temperament has always been a little aggressive. If I want something I will do it at once. If I have a point, I will answer back for me to explain my side. I wont shut my mouth if I have to say something very important just to clear everything. I must share whatever inside my mind. One time, since my sister is very shy, I use to be her spokesperson and Im happy for that.

Many people are aiming to become vivid and communicative because a lot of people admire those characters. Aside from that, being beautiful and handsome has a great impact also in dealing with people. Once an individual performs well in public and build a positive impression socially and physically to the audience are something that can be proud of because it cannot be in lined with any other skills (Sushant, 2010). The personality development is not merely focusing in the enhancement of the characters alone but also in the inside and outside appearance of an individual because whatever is in the inner will manifest in the outside.

Childhood Period
Parenting is a very crucial job because one must apply it justly to be able to produce a better result. It is not easy to rear a child because it has his own mind and individual differences. Parenting must be applied appropriately because it can foretell what will be the future of an individual. There are different approaches for each child. One style may not be suitable to the other, thats why parents must be smart enough to observe which one is applicable for the needs of the other. There are four child  rearing styles according to Artisan. They are 1. Authoritarian. This is the approach in which all through out the scenario, the parents did it all without the participation of the child 2. Authoritative. The parents decide with the involvement of the child 3. Permissive. The child is the one who directs the decision rather than his parents 4. Uninvolved parenting styles. This is the worst style because there is no parents participation.

As for my parents style, they fall under the authoritative style. They give rules to their children to follow but they still let their kids explore. Instead of punishing their kids, their disciplinary methods do not mean for their kids to feel bad about themselves. They carefully explain to they kids the consequences if they do not follow the rule. They let their kids to be assertive and dependable adults. Kids in this style are socially competent and can make choice for them. This is also called balance parenting (Artisan, J. (2009). This is also the style that I want. I wont do anything differently than what my parents did to me. I think the factors that influence their approach are trust, love, and consideration. My parents love us so much, thats why they allow us to experience the not so tight but disciplinary approach of parenting.

Adolescence Period
One of the main key factors for a successful life is self  esteem. The development of this may lead to the happiness and achievement of children and teenagers. Self  esteem is very important for the children because it shows their feeling about themselves and manifests on the way they act. Of course, there are people at the back of the self  esteem development of every child. They are their parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, teachers, friends, and the persons they admired most. The level of self  esteem of an individual during middle childhood and adolescence may change completely because as they grow old they become matured enough and knows already how to apply the processes of self  esteem development. The processes are reflected appraisals, social comparisons, and self  attributions ( HYPERLINK httpfamily.jrank.orgpages1475Self-Esteem-Development-Self-Esteem.html httpfamily.jrank.orgpages1475Self-Esteem-Development-Self-Esteem.html).

Self-esteem is how we feel about ourselves, and our behavior clearly reflects those feelings. For example, a child or teen with high self-esteem will be able to act independently assume responsibility take pride in his accomplishments tolerate frustration attempt new tasks and challenges handle positive and negative emotions offer assistance to others.

On the other hand, a child with low self-esteem will avoid trying new things feel unloved and unwanted blame others for his own shortcomings feel, or pretend to feel, emotionally indifferent be unable to tolerate a normal level of frustration put down his own talents and abilities be easily influenced ( HYPERLINK httpwww.childdevelopmentinfo.comparentingself_esteem.shtml httpwww.childdevelopmentinfo.comparentingself_esteem.shtml).

To promote self  esteem, one must experience the sincere affection, good praises from other people, encouragement, true acceptance, respect, and positive criticism (Nuttall, P. 1991).
