Career Counseling

Learning builds up knowledge and intelligence that everyone wants to have. The most important thing that I learned from this class was related to the needs, requirements, and important considerations in career counseling. While counseling the clients for their future career, one must have to consider many important elements  whether they are present in the client or not. First, the aptitude level of the client would count to a great extent, whether he or she is capable enough to understand and follow the basic things and patters of life. Secondly, physical constraints come when a client is not physically fit, disabled, or does not have enough sound health to carry on with the difficult job tasks. Third, mental constraints also play a vital role because one must have a balanced sense of mind and must have good mental health, rather than having mentally disturbed. Fourth, cultural diversity and gender have become more significant elements these days because employers consider those applicants as suitable for their jobs who fit best on these elements and are from the suitable cultural diversity, background, and gender.

Moreover, educational qualifications are the key to have a good job. The reason being that the education builds up ones skills, abilities, and knowledge on the basis of which he becomes able to perform the tasks assigned to him by the organization. Education has no limit, and so has the knowledge. And as far as the role of psychology is concerned, many organizations these days seek Emotional intelligence in the applicants, which is the ability to understand ones and others emotions and attitudes and the ability to regulate those attitudes and emotions in an appropriate manner (McShane  Travaglione, 2003). This quality helps the companies to have harmonious relationships among employees, avoid conflicts, have better understanding, and achieve the goals and targets in a smooth way.
