ThesisAntithesis Which is more influential in the decline of episodic and working memory of an individual  nature or nurture If the biological decline is more influential, then the research should focus on the study of the decline of memory through natural aging. If the environment is more influential, then a study of the influence of experiences and current situations on the memory could be explored.

b. Synthesis How can experiences and current situations influence the memory functions of the brain in different individuals, those who have better memories and those who have poor memories, in the older generation

Key Theme  2 Rationalism versus Empiricisma. ThesisAntithesis Should the study focus on the logical, organized theoretical framework on memory or should the focus be on the experiments and observation of the experiences of the decline of memory

b. Synthesis How can experiments and observation be of use in collecting data to create a theoretical framework that will possibly explain the decline in an individuals memory

Key Theme  3 Structures versus processesa. ThesisAntithesis Should the study look at the structure of the human brain to understand memory or should it concentrate on the processes of the human brain in determining how memory works
