Synopsis

There can never be a more challenging stage of human development like the adolescence age. This age is very crucial because it brings a child closer to maturity, and an eventual adulthood. In this paper, we discuss the major problems faced by the adolescents in todays modern world. Some of the major problems faced by people at this age include broken family relationships between the child and parents. There sometimes occur cases whereby the child indulges in risky lifestyles which may end up bringing up misfortunes on the individual. Also, some individuals will opt to indulge in intensive consumption of addictive substances like cocaine, mandrax, alcohol which may eventually bring about reckless living. Some other common problems include early pregnancy, identity crisis, depression, sexual concerns, among others.

In order to find a long lasting solution to these problems, there is a literature review showing the dynamics and influences of these problems and how expressed they are in different societies, thus giving us an insight on how we can address them. There is a description of some applicable measures that can be used in addressing these problems like the Alderian Approach and through intensive guidance and counseling. There is also a conclusion on how teachers, psychotherapists, the adolescents themselves, and parents can effectively be of great use in solving these problems. Once all these methods have been competently applied, it will be very possible to bring peace to the young people and by so doing ensuring that they can live a life worth living in their future days.
