Stress Management plan

For an individual to achieve management of stress successfully, she should apply positive approach where applicable. A case in point in stress management is where a person who has responsibilities and is always busy carrying out responsibilities at home and work place, a positive approach for this stressful situation calls for a thoughtful scheduling, a good decision making plan, and an insightful achievement (Mora, Forgionne  Gupta, 2003).

Discussion
Before a victim of stress comes up with a plan, she should ask herself what she wants to accomplish with the stress management plan. How will she know that stress management program has achieved a stress free life Is there any person that will be directly or indirectly affected by the stress free life that am planning to achieve, and how will she benefit from this achievement What are the benefits of achieving this stress free life After analyzing all these, the person can recognize the need for a decision of coming up with a goal of a stress free program.

Goals
The goals of the stress free management plan should be achievable and should be able to handle stress related to
Employment deadlines and excessive responsibilities
Excessive traveling
Course exams
Family responsibilities
On going pressures of work due to the highly technical nature and responsibility of the job
Dealing with traffic congestion everyday and trying to reach destinations in time
Spouse deployment and the effects it has on relationship.
Shift work
Military family life

For a successful implementation of any change in her life, she has to come up with an evaluation plan. This plan would entails things like setting the right vision, identify obstacles that may hider the positive steps that can be used to eradicate stress, set easy goals that will be easy to achieve in the end, and have the passion for the positive change (Paton  McCalman, 2008). It is also extremely vital for a person to stick to the plan of managing stress.

Stressful situation should be avoided by the four As which stand for Avoid stressors, Alter stressors, Adapt to the stressors, and Accept stressors (Weiss, 2008). For example, if traffic jam results to stress, it is better to take a longer route that does not have a traffic jam. If excessive traveling causes stress, it would be better for her to do her shopping online, if meeting employment challenges causes stress, it would be better for her to know her limits and refrain from taking added responsibilities since they will result to a stressful situation. In short,  a person should analyze her schedule , responsibilities and daily tasks .She should carefully sit down and  distinguish what she should do and what she must do. This should then be followed by dropping tasks that are not necessary or rather eliminating them in her entire life.

However, a person can find that she is not able eliminate or some of the task that lead to stress. In this situation she should

Express her feelings instead of keeping quiet, as keeping quit to undesired feelings may build resentment, which may cause the stressful situation to remain.

Be willing to compromise Pride can be an obstacle of achieving a stress free life. This is so because if  someone is causes stress in her life due to certain kinds of action and she want him or her to change his behavior , she should also be willing to do the same for himher as this would help in creating a middle ground (Weiss, 2008).

Be more assertive Deal with problems by doing your best to anticipate and prevent them. She should tell her friend who comes to spend her study time that she has only a limit amount of time to spend with himher.

Manage her time better Poor time management may be an obstacle to getting a stress free life, as it will make her keep on rushing. This makes it hard for her to stay calm and focused. Whenever she plans her time, she should make sure that she does not extend herself.

If she cannot be able to change these stresses, changing herself would then work in the management of stress. This change can result to a change of self-control by changing her expectations and attitudes. This can be achieved by

Reframing problem Stresses like traffic jam can be viewed from a more positive perspective rather than fuming about the situation. A positive perspective can be looking at the traffic jam as a moment of pausing and regrouping, listening to my favorite radio station, or even enjoying some time alone.
Less time and concentration some of the stresses like course exams do not happen most of the time but occasionally. Stress management related to this can achieved by focusing on other issues.
Adjusting her standards Goals must be measurable. Reaching to perfection stage requires a considerable amount of time and effort (Weiss, 2008). By measuring the amount of responsibility, she will be accountable for at work will help to create an ample time for her family. More so, she will have an ample time to further her class work-studies. Therefore, she should avoid being too much of a perfectionist and set reasonable and achievable standards for herself.

Focus on the positive She should take moment to reflect on the things that she appreciates in her life, which can include the positive qualities as they help her keep thing in perspective.

According to Underwood  Edmunds (2003), emotions and physical wellbeing of a person is affected by how a person thinks. A negative thought about oneself make your body react as if it were throes of tension- filled situations. A person is more likely to feel good if he or she sees good things about herself, and vice versa. A person should as much as possible eliminate the self-defeating thoughts. A person who has achieved a stress free goal has positive emotions about himself. This results to having an achievement in all areas of his day-to-day activities including healthy eating.

Statement of the Predicted Outcomes
In order for a person to achieve an outcome from the stress management plan, she should have the adequate knowledge about the causes of stress and its management. She should value and know the impact of the achieving a stress free life, adapt positive feelings for the management program develop skills to define the ability of knowing how to respond particular behavior (Paton  McCalman, 2008).
When all these are incorporated, it is very possible for her to adopt a healthy lifestyle, since she will be able to gain resistance to stress by strengthening his physical health and having an ample time with her family. More so, stress management plan can be also result to a better time management program, which will encourage or create space for planning a nutritious eating habit. This in turn leads to a nourished body, which is well prepared to cope with stress in future.
