Euthanasia

Euthanasia is a widely debated topic by medical experts, law and social science experts and religious groups all over the world. It is the act of assisting or deliberately killing a person for the benefit of that same person. Most cases consist of a sick or dying individual asks for it, but some cases would that a person cannot decide or request this on his own. Euthanasia raises moral and legal questions that would affect the view of the topic both pros and cons have points of their own. This paper hopes to undertake several positive arguments for euthanasia.

First and foremost, people who suffer from terminal and incurable diseases would more and more be faced with severe pain and would have their normal lives be damaged by the illness. People should be given the choice on how they will live, or in this case, how they would die. It is better to see a person die in dignity than die in pain and suffering. Forcing a person with terminal condition to extend his life, life in pain and suffering could be a punishment to the person. A group called EXIT, or The Voluntary Euthanasia Society, believes that any person faced with pain or useless existence should have the freedom to be able to choose to be faced with the mercy of a painless death.

Secondly, some instances would see that euthanasia is better than any other choice. Most people whom had their pets laid down to rest than to continue suffering refer to this as a form of kindness. This should also be applicable to humans, as it would lessen their suffering.

Also, it would also be beneficial for the relatives that their loved ones died in dignity than in suffering. It would help ease the grief at some point, looking at the bigger picture. Mercy killing would help the patient enter a quick and painless death for a person not living in a quality life continue on surviving.
Finally, at some point, the person himself would be the one to make the final call when to end his life, and how to. If suicide is considered legal, then euthanasia should also be considered legal. A person calling his own death by euthanasia is very similar to a person suicide. They both choose to end their lives by their own means. This time, euthanasia would be just choosing to die in peace and in dignity, rather than continue on suffering a tedious but severely painful life.
