Embodied Cognitive Science and how it has redefined human psychology
A recent study at the University of Aberdeen concluded that when people come across mental time travel either thinking about the past or future their reactions are determined the way their bodies react, hence acting out metaphors. The study surrounding these metaphors is known embodied cognitive science. This research proposal will present a thesis on embodied cognition and how it has given new dimension to the human psychology.

In recent times it has been the subject of numerous studies. In simple terms embodied cognition proposes that the human mind is actually reflective of the human body. Various aspects of cognition for instance thought processes, ideas, conceptions etc. are reflective of the way a human body is structured. The manner in which the human body is structured involves many different aspects which comprise of the perceptual system, human intuitions and built-in understanding of the human environment.

Embodied cognition is considered to be reflective of the practical environment and hence involves both perception and action. It is also affected by time pressures.  Along with the human mind, the surrounding environment also plays a major role in determining the activity of embodied cognition. Embodied cognition focuses on elaborating the mechanisms which determine intelligent behavior among humans. It has three major methodologies to do so namely,
Holistic modeling of both psychological and biological systems In this methodology the human mind and body are considered to be a represent a single variable.

Formation of general principles of intelligent behavior There are as many as five general principles which over the years have been utilized to determine traditional artificial intelligence. (Lakoff,  Johnson, 1980. p. 96)

Experimental usage of robots in monitored environments Along with artificial intelligence, emotional cognitive is extensively used in the development of robots for experimental usage.

Conclusion
Although embodied cognition is still quite a new concept but its application is of paramount importance in this digital age since it gives newer insights into human psychology.
